Berlin Steaks

Makes about 4... they're lovely cold too...

1&1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/4 onion finely chopped
1 cup coarsely torn bread (french or hard rolls work best)
1 egg
2 T milk
1 t. salt
pepper to taste

In a medium sized bowl mix egg and milk and onion salt and pepper together.
Soak bread in mixture for a few minutes to soften.
Next mix in ground beef (get your hands in there and vent some frustrations).
Shape into large fat patties (about the size of a burger but twice as thick).
In a skillet melt 4 tbl spoons of butter.
Place patties in butter and fry out.
This hould take about 7 minutes per side... medium heat...
I serve them with potato salad or parsleyed potatoes.
