Makes 2 medium sized loaves
1 1/4 cup of warm water
1 T of dry yeast
1 T sugar
1/2 T salt
3 1/2 cup white flour
Stir everything but the flour together until uniformally dissolved.
Now add the flour..
Knead for 10 minutes..
Place dough in a greased bowl..
Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in volume.
Punch down and knead to remove air.
Divide dough equally into 2 well greased french bread pans.
Slice top with knife (diagonally).
Brush with egg white.
Place in dark oven and let it rise until volume doubles.
Bake 15 minutes at 450 deg Fahrenheit and 30 minutes at 350.
Remove from pans and cool.
